about

This seventh Sensitive Chaos album started its journey in June 2013 much like the previous six; I sequenced the first set of new songs and orchestrated them into some working basic tracks.

In September 2013, I performed one of these tracks live at the Nophest Festival in Atlanta and in October 2013, work began in earnest on what you are holding in your hands. It took a year from that point to ready the tracks for collaboration.

In August 2014, I invited a small list of musicians to help finish the compositions, including several artists who had appeared on previous Sensitive Chaos recordings, as well as a few new folks whose work I admired. Those that accepted the invite sent their music over the next 8 months and I quickly added and edited each new track into the working mixes.

The individuals pictured on this page truly played their hearts out and brought the songs to life with very little direction from me, except for a story about the song or a feeling I was trying to convey. Each instrument or part they added took the piece up a level. And though none really knew how their contributions sounded side-by-side with the others, the whole is definitely greater than the sum of the parts.

Many thanks to my musical partners Paul Vnuk, Jr. (Oak Creek, WI), Tony Gerber (Nashville, TN), Josie Quick (Denver, CO), Brian Good (Cleveland, OH), Greg Hurley (Scotts Valley, CA), and Christian Birk (Atlanta, GA). So glad we are able to “March” together!
